adventurous lighthearted medium-paced

Spent the whole read kicking my little feet with glee because this felt like a really good YA fantasy novel you stay up all night reading except it's about a jaded Torontonian finding out she's a witch mid-quarter life crisis and going on a cross country road trip to track down haunted spoons.

I enjoyed this witchy tale but found it to be a little too rambling.

This wasn’t exactly what I expected- I thought there would be more about how the company side of VenCo and how it works. After getting over that I did start to enjoy the book. The beginning is a bit slow, and the flashbacks with Arnya get kind of old, but they feel worth it later. The latter third of the book is really strong. The epilogue was a little disappointing though.

I did enjoy the a lot of the books concepts of magic, especially of places having magic.

books this simple should not be this long. cute, but never that engaging.

Badass lady witches? Heck yeah!! Unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. So many characters, and the surfaces of so many storylines were barely scratched. I appreciated the ending - hex the patriarchy! - and would read a follow up if written.
