Although this did end up giving me a comforting feeling every time I came back to the book, the plot didn't feel very exciting/developed. Maybe I was just looking for something a little more exciting.

There are moments of brilliance where I truly understand how novel this book was in its time.

However, the majority of the time I was either bored or repulsed by the racist and paedophilic passing comments by the narrator.

I understand it’s a product of its time and should be treated as such, but it was truly a slog to get through at times.

And if he loved Dean so much, they should have just kissed.

I think this book would have been much more impressive if I had been of Kerouac's generation.

However, I'm glad to have read it, and thus add one more notch to my Bedpost O' Canon.

That is a deeply strange metaphor..and I apologize.

Review to come when I catch myself. This book is something else...
adventurous slow-paced

In the months I’ve been carrying this book in my bag, I accidentally spilled water on it three times. Idk why but that feels right.
