This would have been a full 5, but I didn't care for the little triangle between Bree, Nick, and Sel. Other than that, this was a roller coaster of emotions and action. I am genuinely loving the characters and the story. I cannot wait to dig into Oathbound.
Bree should get a free pass to beat multiple people per month.
Tracy Deonn has done it again. I couldn't put this book down and was absolutely enthralled. The character growth for Bree is perfection. I did predict one of the twists but I'm not even mad. I can't wait to read this again!

I'm a terrible reviewer, but I wanted to express how eager I am to continue this adventure.
2nd time reading this book but my poor memory came through to let me experience plot twists as though they were new information.
I remember liking this even more than the first book on my initial read and I would maybe still stand by that.

Book long. Took me over a year to read lol. That definitely didn’t help with being able to keep track of what was what and who was who.
Felt like so much and yet nothing really happened. I continue to feel like the stakes are not very high, similarly to the first book.
The twist on Arthurian Legend is really clever though, and the combo of that plus race/modern history/ancestry is really well done.

Even though I didn’t agree with the characters actions I was thoroughly invested and enjoyed the book and I don’t have to like everyone or agree for it to be deemed a good book. I have to be up at 5:30 and I am finishing the last page at 12am. That says a lot for a girl who loves her sleep
