Like her cat, Marlow, Sam Smith has settled into a life of comfort, free from her past turbulence. In this edition, she tackles the problem of hate crimes. Those who deem themselves superior to others are in actuality inferior. Their hatred eats away any goodness they may once have had.

Although petite, Sam may not measure up to most clients' opinion of an enquiry agent, she more more than compensates on her ability to solve the problems put before her. She has no fear going up against the rough and tough to solve a crime. She's a master of word play, even if the recipient of her wit is clueless.

Like all Sam Smith stories, I love the things I learn about history and human behavior. So much is packed into these books, and each a pleasure to read.
