If you enjoy reading about history, you will enjoy this. I adore China Mieville’s fiction, and this was as eloquently presented and exciting. And I also learned a lot about the revolution and figures of that period.

Very impressed. I liked Miéville's take on the Russian Revolution: it's written like a novel, with heroes and villains, and all that fictional "good stuff". Is it biased? I guess. The book never shies away from taking a stand, and it works. The last chapters had me more exited than most "action" thrillers.
