Review 27/09/23
This book was recommended by Jungkook. I'm glad I read it.
I almost forgot everything but I remembered being so excited about my first Korean book and having found a copy of it on the internet. So according my young self who never liked reading, this gal deserved a five star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ig

To the reader who has lived, or lives, in a similar society as the author, you'll find this book will serve you well in areas of inspiration, individuality, and thinking for yourself - provided, perhaps, that you share the same values as the author. If not, it may still give you valuable insights into yourself and your relationship with your community.
To the reader who lives in a heterogeneous society that is liberal with self-expression and standing out, you won't find that many new ideas. You have probably arrived at the same general conclusions already well before you got your hands on this book. You'll gain an insight into South Korean society though. Instead, this book will serve to remind you of your values as an individual and to stick with them when you find yourself burying who you are to keep the peace. After all, the pressure to conform is ever present in any community.

Personally, what I liked most about this book is that despite the majority of its content being about the pursuit of individuality and authenticity to self, it ends with the call to go back to the tribe as an individual with a firm sense of self and values. All the talk about putting one's self first is not for its own sake, it is ultimately about being strongly rooted in one's self so one may contribute meaningfully to their tribe and even change it for the better. Not a novel suggestion but it bears repeating in any form.

I found the writing sort of bland but works well enough in achieving its goal: " to give warmth and comfort for a short while".

A very easy read and written in a simple manner which is easily understandable. I personally am not very fond of self help books but I really love how the author managed to give me some insight without boring me to death. The simple art at the end of each lesson also kept me very interested and engaged.

First of all,  I love that this book was given to me by my cousin. It added a greater value to an already valuable book.

Second, I love that the book is easy to digest and sectioned in small parts. I was able to read it even if I'm not in a mood to read, especially long ones.

Third, it helped me a lot in terms of my perception and mindset. I'm glad na natupad yung purpose ng pagbibigay sakin nito ni Ate Kate. Kasi I received it during my debut and yung sinabi niya sakin non during 18 gifts is that she hopes daw na it'll me sa aking adulting. Siyempree 18th birthday Ko non and it is a perfect gift for me who is just entering the adulthood. In addition, I love the impact it brought to me. I am a person who is very perfectionist and sticks to society standard like the Koreans. For background, the books was written by Korean and gave a background to Korean not so good characteristics. So yeah, I'm glad that I was able to assess myself and be aware of my perceptions+ actions.

i bought this as a companion to the korean version for language study but ended up reading it through. good to read if you're having an anxious time, but otherwise contains a lot of stuff you can just watch in a tiktok by that lady who does yoga and says nice things to you

This book was wonderful! I would have liked to name a few of my favorite parts, but I can't just quote a few, there are so many.

I would recommend this book to the lost adults and also to those who are not that much!

Thanks to Jungkook!
