It's a solid story for the Dragon Age universe that explores some familiar characters from the game, albeit less interestingly than those presented in the first book.

It adds some intriguing ideas regarding the Darkspawn and the Grey Wardens. Unfortunately, they are rather shallow ideas that are neither explored nor explained satisfyingly.

Better than stolen throne because it didn't have Loghain in it. Young Duncan was much cooler to read about anyways.

I wasn’t as invested in this story as the first one unfortunately. It took me a while to get through the story because it moved a bit slowly. The ending got a lot more exciting and I was glad I stuck with it, but it took a long time to get there.
