I’m a huge fan of the tv series, and I loved reading it as well. This was pretty much verbatim of what the series offered in terms of dialogue and plot. However, I enjoyed that the book showed more backstory, specifically with Viren, Soren, and Claudia.

One thing that irked me, that’s definitely a personal preference, is that the narrator is in 3rd person, but the pov switches from character to character, and not necessarily in a smooth way. The narration gave information on what the characters were feeling and thinking, so when it switches to another characters pov in another paragraph and bounces back, it got a little jarring.

If you are an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan, you need to watch The Dragon Prince on Netflix because it's by the same writers! These are the books for the show. Quick, fun read but I would suggest watching the show first ♥️
