This book was amazing and I could not put it down. It was action packed and added a twist of Egyptology to a story about a magician.

Look at the content warnings before you read it but is a good kind of mystery and has a good idea.

I definitely enjoyed this more as a child than an adult, but I still love the silly whimsy of the narrator, and the secrecy of it all. The theme is very fun and I like how consistent and thorough it is in telling the story. I'm not sure if now, in adulthood, I'd ever finish the series, but I do regret not finishing it when I was younger.
**Fun fact: this book was how I realized I have synesthesia, and that people don't normally hear colours/see music...

This book was pretty good. The mystery of the story is truly unpredictable, and it's scary (well, when I was younger it was...I don't really know if it would be scary now). But then again, writing style...not the best.
Read for nastalgia and it's so different from what I remember, but just as cheeky as I remember.
I can remember reading this book as a kid on long car rides and thinking it was peak literature.
Great books but probably not for someone older than A tween.
My ten year old son recommended this. Pretty progressive for a children's book. Cass has two grandfathers that live together and run an antique store? (Although neither is actually her grandfather.) Or am I reading too much into that? Anyway the book is clever little mystery with two likable main characters. My son and I both are ready for book two!
