Bull's Eye is #8 in the Kate Fox is series. This is one that starts out with a bang and then slowly dwindles down to a slow paced read. Kate Fox is the town's sheriff, and her family wants her removed from her seat. As Kate deals with her family drama, she also has a murder on her hands.

A man is found dead at the rodeo and Kate is quick to call it accidental, blaming the death on his beloved bull. Some of the townspeople think his wife killed him due to their estranged relationship. Kate realizes she has made a mistake in judgement and is quickly removed from the case. She tries to correct her mistake my continuing to investigate the case off the record. Kate will uncover a whole other crime scheme that is occurring within her jurisdiction. There's love, murder, family drama, side dealings, and cheating all packed in this novel. While I was not a big fan of the storyline, I know there will be many of you who will love it.

I love the midwestern colloquialisms Baker throws into the dialog. It makes the characters more relatable… and I laugh. These books are very character driven and I always look forward to their release!
