I think at this point everybody who’s reading this book knows what they’re getting themselves in to. It was so so so good but it also felt like a chore to read it. Sometimes there are 20+ page chapters that I could summarize with a sentence and feel like I’m not missing anything important; but then again that’s what we’re here for. The bones of this story is amongst one of the best ever written but sometimes I wish Martin could get out of his own way and just tell it.

Every trigger warning imaginable aside, the characters in this series are some of the most complex, unique and interesting of any fantasy series. The character arc of Jamie Lannister is one of the best I've ever read in a piece of fiction. Incredible character writing and world building.
