C'è la questione della Torre Nera e di cosa stia accadendo: qualche Reietto ci ha messo le mani? Che è successo a Logain?
Poi abbiamo la spina nel fianco che sono i Seanchan, ora che hanno i Passaggi e che progettano un attacco alla Tar Valon. Andranno sistemati in qualche modo prima dell'attacco, probabilmente con questa "pace del Drago", per ottenere la quale non dubito Rand sarà pronto a inginocchiarsi.
Soprattutto abbiamo le visioni di Aviendha.
E' un futuro scritto nella pietra? Non penso, perché gli eventi disastrosi che lei ha visto nascono da scelte ben precise, e se riuscisse a convincere le Sapienti forse il Disegno futuro potrebbe cambiare.
E poi abbiamo la scelta di Mat, la sorpresa che ci porta Moiraine, i combattimenti nel mondo del sogno e quelli contro i trolloc, sia di Ituralde che di Perrin.
I draghi di Mat, finalmente, e la sua fortuna usata come arma.
Un ottimo antipasto per il gran finale di questa saga maestosa.

This is one of the weirdest series of books I've ever read. The inconsistency in quality is just so bizarre. But man, the last few books have been killer.
This entire book is basically one win after another for the PoV characters, and it does not get old at all. Pretty much everyone has their great moments here and lingering issues are checked off one after another.
It's a really great setup for the inevitable pain that's going to be meted out in the final book.
In particular, I liked the sequence with Aviendha. It suggests an idea I think is important and interesting, even if it's not one that we deal with much in the next book: everything isn't going to end in happiness for everyone forever. We've seen how annoying and stupid and greedy and malicious people have been throughout this series, and the best possible scenario is that this all continues into the future. There will be wars and betrayals and acts of staggering stupidity all down the years, and that's all we can really hope for. That, and that there will be good people striving always to make the world better.

Best one yet. I'll never forgive Jordan for taking 6 books to bring back my favorite character.
Ganz bestimmt kein schlechtes Buch, aber für mich hat es einfach nicht so gut funktioniert, wie viele andere. Es hat den Hauptfokus auf Perrin und Mat, wobei vor allem das Ende der Ghenjei Handlung für mich zu spät kam und einfach nicht so funktioniert hat, wie es wahrscheinlich sollte. Am Ende wird aber alles für das große Finale in Position gebracht.

At times it felt like the missing half of the last book, as certain character's storylines
took half the book to catch up to the timelines of the other characters from the previous one.
A cynic might say that the book was largely about going down the list of the series'
outstanding loose ends, and tying them off one by one.
Well, when done so lovingly, what's wrong with that!
Epic battles, character reunions, long-awaited resolutions, surprising twists, and every step moving the story forward.
‘They should post a flaming explanation on those archways.
“Step through here and they can bloody hang you. And they will. Idiot.”’
