“This is a love story. I never knew there were so many kinds of love or that love could make people do so many different things.
I'm sad to report that this book severely suffers from middle book syndrome. It was filled with filler and didn't seem to have much plot to drive it forward. It seemed like the teenage angst was amped up in this one too, which annoyed me quite a bit. I also really hate Cole and do not find him to be a well-written character. Unfortunately this book let me down--I remember it being much better.

Good but not great! The first book was so wonderful. It was good for the most part just started to lose interest by the end.

Cried, wept, bawled my eyes out? Yes. Why? Because of love.
This sequel to "Shiver" picks up in early spring. Grace and Sam are still in love, and Sam is happy to be human, but there are still obstacles to their happiness. Grace is suffering from a mysterious illness that doctors can't diagnose, and Grace's parents discover that their daughter's relationship is more serious than they thought.
While Grace is struggling with illness and her suddenly involved parents, Sam is trying to become a leader for the pack and the new wolves Beck created. One of these wolves is Cole, and he has serious issues an secrets of his own. He and Sam take an instant dislike to each other.
Isabel is still mourning and suffering guilt for her brother's death. She and Cole feel an instant attraction, but they may be too damaged to have a romantic relationship with anyone.
"Shiver" is told in alternating chapters from Grace and Sam's perspecives. "Linger" is moves among the perspecives of all four characters. There is just as much moody romance and longing in this book as in its predecessor. Fans of paranormal romance will enjoy this offering and be eager to read the third installment.
