Again, nonplussed with the writing (especially the emo lyrics) but I love the characters (Same, Grace, Isobel and Cole) and want to know what happens, so I'll be reading the last book in the trilogy.

so. much. melodrama.
adventurous mysterious medium-paced

I felt much about this book that I did about the first - the overarching plot is interesting, but Sam and Grace’s relationship had me feeling meh about a lot of it. I really want to like this series, but it’s just not for me.

I liked this book. The first one was a little bit better but I still enjoyed this one. I liked that the story did evolve other characters than only Grace and Sam. What I didn't care for are all the problems with the parents. These parts were just frustrating for me. Maybe I'm just over teenage drama, I don't know. I'm not sure if I will read the last book in the series. At the moment I'm not to eager to read it.

I'm not done, but I'm currently hating this book and REALLY don't want to finish it. I'm close but not quite. sigh.

Ugh. NOTHING happened in this book until the last hour of the audio. It was boring. and I still don't feel any connection to any of the characters. I don't think I'll be reading the third one.

Definitely a middle of the trilogy book. Too many loose ends. Glad I have the last in the series.

I'm keeping the original rate out of nostalgia even though my opinion has changed over the years. Rigth now the main flaw I find in these books is the emphasis on the protagonists' traumatic past experiences as part of the character's development. And especially I find problematic how the story addresses difficult issues as suicide attempts or drug abuse without, in my opinion, proper treatment or as motivation for the plot.

Otherwise, I still think Stiefvater's explanation of lycanthropy as a disease is interesting and I like Cole St. Claire's arch of redemption very much. As much as I'm enjoying the re-reading, I think I have a romantic vision of these books. Still, I'm really enjoying hearing the voices of characters who were so important to me as a teenager.

Another title for this book is Repercussions because it really is just the consequences of actions taken in the first book. i liked the addition of Cole and Isabel's perspectives and how much it added to the story.
