Beautiful!! After having a hard time with the Audiobook, sorry but Sam and Grace drove me crazy!! but Cole's voice...Oh my!! Anyway terrific book If it wasn't because the story was a little bit slow for my taste it would be a 5 star book.

3,5 stars

I don't undertsand why some people dislike Sam so much, I think he is a really well-crafted character. I like him a lot. Sure he can at times be a bit of a YA cliché, but most of the time I think he works well as a fairly well-developed character, and I find him much more interesting than most YA characters. I love his relationship with Grace and how they interact with each other. I like jargon he has with Rachel and Isabel. I like the way he and Cole work with each other and their budding understanding for each other. I might no be a fan of his songs, but I like that he actually has developed interest outside of his love for Grace. I just like him. I also appreciate that Stiefvater tackles his trauma head on and shows how it is affecting him and that PTSD is something you struggle with for years and years. It's real and it's raw. It was also nice and sad to read about his life with the pack as a child when they were all human during the summers.

I thought about my feelings for Gace when reading this book. Her dependency on Sam in the last book was unhealthy in my opinon. She needs to need more than just being with Sam, but I kind of understand why she became so consumed with him after having been starved of affection by her parents. I think there is development of her character in this shown through her friendship with Isabel and I hope that she will establish one with Cole as well. Rachel and Olivia seem like after thoughts to her, but she spent more time with Rachel in this at least. I'm also giving her a pass since she was ill for most of this book. I also came to realise that she does have interest outside of Sam such as cooking and math but I'd like for her to have a bit more to her character that just being obsessed with the wolves and Sam. That said though, I like the way she interacts with Sam, Cole and Isabel.

I remember liking both Cole and Isabel when I read this book as a teenager. That hasn't changed. They're so broken, but how they help each other heal is beautiful. Even more so when they most of the time do not realise what they are doing for the other. Isabel is a fascinating character, and thank god for her and how headstrong she is becuase without her the other characters would be done for. I also liked the subtle hints at her having a crush on Sam, it seemed fitting that she would be attracted to the qualities he has after growing up with her family. And I love that she is strong enough to realise right from wrong and loyalty despite growing up in the family she has grown up in.

Cole is a tragic and brilliant character. I could write a lot about what I like about him and it would be in the same vein as Isabel. Though he didn't grow up under the same circumstances as her his character serves as a reminder of what happens when we put our aspirations onto others without thinking of them as their own person. The way he ran away from it all and from his guilt to then have to confront it was satisfying to read.

All in all Maggie Stiefvater is a mastermind at crafting characters but that comes as no surprise, especially if you have read The Raven Cycle. She is also brilliant at creating atmosphere. It feels very vivid and real. I also like her writing style (excluding [b:All the Crooked Saints|30025336|All the Crooked Saints|Maggie Stiefvater|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1500451773l/30025336._SY75_.jpg|50430647]) a lot.

A few things that confused me was how the werewolf thing worked, mostly in regard to Grace. I thought Shelby bit her in the last book, so wouldn't she have been infected again then? Or was it not deep enough? I also assumed you would only get infected by being bitten when by someone in wolform, althought that was never stated so that's on me. I also would have liked for Rachel, Grace's parents and Isabel's parents to be a bit more developed. But all in all this is an enjoyable read, especially for YA.

Very disappointed. Has wonderful potential as a story. I just couldn't get past the fact that all of the parental figures in the book were portrayed as complete screw ups and/or idiots. I also did not like the fact that this is another book where boy and girl are so in love they can't possibly go more than a few hours without each other. I wish Grace was portrayed as an independent/strong protagonist without being disrespectful to her parents or overly dependent on Sam.

This was a stunningly written book!!! If you have not read Shiver and Linger yet, READ THEM!!! I cannot wait for the third book in the series "Forever". I hope you like this book as much as i did!!!

I am starting book 3 right away! Love this series :)

I actually enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series. I feel like tension and suspense were built much better in this one, especially around the topic of Grace being sick. I enjoyed Cole as a new character, I still think Isabel is a bad-ass bi-atch and I’m looking forward to Grace’s awful parents getting shut down somehow in the final novel. Overall, surprisingly much better than I was expecting.

Probably just going to read the Wikipedia summary of the next book tbh

Shiver I thought the pace was really done well with Linger I felt like it dragged on a little too much. There was just too much foreshadowing for me.

I did enjoy getting new characters and learning Cole’s quirks. His identity was hush, hush and then we learn why. I think this could become a problem later we will have to wait and see. Isabell is also a character I am become to like.

Sam in this book kind of fell flat, his obsessions with his “cure” is a little annoying but I do get it. Like I said too much foreshadowing.

Ahh, Grace, I enjoyed Linger I did I just wish it was faster paced.
ON to Forever.

The narration is fantastic I loved the performance!
