Louise Penny has done it again. Slowly drawing the reader into the world of Three Pines and a mystery that unfolds across the stretch of Quebec. The new narrator brings a refreshing voice of the Quebecois, and did an exceptional job of bringing all the beloved characters to life. This has been one of my favourite series, and even 19 books in, the quality of plot and character has never waivered.
The Grey Wolf feels very poignant to today’s happenings and has an eerie parallel that gave me goosebumps. There is always something to sit and reflect on with these books.

It was fun to read a book that takes place in Quebec. I don’t think I should have started with this book, however. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and the author often had three different ways to refer to the same person.
