“I made an air bubble at the bottom of the lake. Our friends kept waiting for us to come up, but hey—when you’re the son of Poseidon, you don’t have to hurry. And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time.”

Hmmm. This book was really good, but it also felt one-dimensional. Any fight with Kronos felt a bit Dumb because this guy is supposed to be a Titan. I think it's because this fight has been hyped up throughout the series, and I had much higher expectations than what happened. I had fun reading it, but I just have to accept this is a children's series, and I shouldn't be hoping for more fleshed-out conflicts and characterization lol. Also, the Oracle stuff was really cool. Overall, 3.5 and Percy will always be famous.

Such a satisfying finale <3 I love these books so much and am SO excited for the new series! This is such nostalgia for me and I can't wait to continue rereading with THE LOST HERO next week!

While I enjoyed rereading this series as a whole, the final book really fell flat for me. Where the previous books’ plot benefitted off the twists and turns of different quests, the bulk of this book is one giant battle that feels one-note very quickly. The most interesting part for me was Luke, but I would have preferred the uncovering of Luke’s backstory to be gradually revealed throughout the series rather than crammed into a single book.

Lastly, I remember being very invested in Annabeth and Percy’s romance when I first read this series, but WOOF did it not work for me as an adult. Was honestly actively rooting for him to get with Rachel even though I knew how it all ended. Another case of me aging out of this genre!
