Bliss and sorrow... Why does this series have to end?

Everything in this series (well, almost) is just beyond entertaining. The books have their flaws, right, but they get overlooked because of the wonder that they can give to people of all ages. Witty dialogue, clever foreshadowing, careful application of greek mythology here and there.. everything. I just love this series, the characters, and the cool things I've discovered. Looking for more.

Made me realize I loved this book series again, even though I also reflected on how one dimensional it was throughout the other books; the series is incredibly eurocentric and talks big about harmony across the world and whatnot but feels very white which is meh because the story is set in 21st century america and there's definitely a lot of diversity that could have been included that would not have felt token or forced in any way. For starters, acknowledging the rest of the world in any way would've been cool. Showing some kind of cultural confluence. Literally anything. Especially for a YA book series about mythology that took many liberties with translating stuff into modern times, it felt pretty sad whenever I rolled my eyes at overwhelmingly european white nonsense.

But the power of friendship! The feeling of vindication when grown ups (gods) listen to you! The awkwardness of being a teenager! Unlikely friendships! All things to love. Percy's tone as a narrator is very entertaining which makes the overall reading experience super fun
