Absolutely fantastic, probably one of the top ten books I’ve ever read. I really cared about what happened to all of these characters and became invested in what happened to them. It’s a really long book, but worth the time.

Good, not great. Wouldn’t re-read. I would recommend it if you’re wild about westerns, but otherwise do not recommend. A little pointless in the end, in my opinion.

Masterful. This is a cast of characters, that even past 800 pages, I’m so sad to be saying goodbye to.

Loved seeing the Great Plains of North America through this crew and felt like I was learning history through McMurtry’s fiction.
