So great! It's exactly like the author said in the afterward: a great myth crosses centuries and, unfortunately, this story is still a reality for some women in this world.

(3.5) it’s such a powerful, dark short story rooted in greek mythology. the author's feminist modern retelling sets it apart from many other stories I've read lately, particularly because of its deep connection to greek mythology. surprisingly, it only took me about 20 minutes to read, but the impact it left was truly thought-provoking. despite it being short, I would definitely recommend it.

As is expected with Madeline Miller’s retelling, we got a beautifully written story based off legend that is haunting, heartbreaking, and magnificent. I’ll never not read what she’s written.

This was so much more than I expected going into it (Madeline Miller will do that to you). This was an absolute masterpiece and the driving theme of this short story hit so close to home.
