I had to give this 3 stars not because I think it’s a 3 star book. Honestly I’d give it 2 at best. However, in the spirit of Christmas - I’ll be nice. No actually it’s just because this book is probably good but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
I would like to say though that I did enjoy this book, it’s sweet and cute. Anyway here’s me ripping it apart

The Geek who saved Christmas follows Gideon and Paul and their Christmas decorating turned romance. However, once you really get into the book, you realise that’s it. Once they kiss, there’s kinda nothing left to do other than get together. So what happens? Smut. Pure smut. And I reckon for any other reader this could probably be enjoyable but honestly it’s just not for me.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some cute moments and I do enjoy Paul and Gideon’s relationship. I’m just a really picky reader and didn’t like the writing style. I did love Elaine though, she did bring the book together in my opinion.

If you want a pure fluff (a lil angst but really it’s not much it’s just an attempt to have a more rounded story) and smutty Christmas book, then you’ll love this.
Honestly I should stop reading Christmas romances or just pure romances in general. They’re just not for me.

This was a sweet, low angst between two neighbours. One who loves Christmas and one who doesn't. Loved the sweet story.

The start was cute. The neighbourhood messages at the start of the every chapter were a really nice touch. Gideon and Paul are not bad characters, I liked them both. What I didn't like is that... Paul was presented as this huge humbug at the start of the book and then pretty much instantly they are both actually so much into each other?? Where was the angst? I was expecting some angst, and maybe that loss of expectation falls on me, but I just couldn't vibe with the very fast progression of them falling in love so fast and so hard, I don't know why. Ultimately, it was a cute and easy read, and I kind of wish to see the neighbourhood they live in at Christmas :)

The perfect holiday audiobook. This story was literally everything I want Netflix/hallmark/lifetime Christmas movies to actually be but like 10X better

I think I would have liked this more had I not tried to read a Christmas book in the middle of May. It was good. I wanted a little bit more from it, I think. It never really hit me the way I expected it to.
