Really enjoyed this gothic translated MG/YA mystery.  Endearing characters and a bit creepy!

Quick solid mystery. Mika’s dialogue though makes her sound much older than she is.

I really enjoyed the Dickenson-esque steampunk atmosphere, perfect for a winter read. Mika has potential for continued development as a character, but I found her Constable compatriot Mr. Hoff unrealistic in his trepidation around her. My rating mostly fell at the end which felt thrown together and solved in a strange and all too quick way.
