Books like this are hard for me to rate. I don't think it's a "good" book. It's melodramatic, over the top, and not well-written. But, I enjoyed reading it. It drew me in and kept me absorbed in the characters (completely unbelievable) pile on of hardships.

First i saw the movie and i was obsessed , i had never seen anything like it, had never encounter female sexuality not catered for male pleasure.
The book is so good, poetic in the right way and filled with a variety of richly developed women who don't have to be good nor care if they are. Defiant women of the norms society puts them in. Women who were sensual for their own pleasure.
And still telling a complec storie of a mother and child bond , who despite going trough big drama still feel crazy relatable.

A stunning book. Painfully sad, but beautiful all the same.
