At times I loved it, at times I thought it was overwrought psycho-babble. At times so realistic and at others, improbable. In the end I have to give 4 stars for the sheer magnitude of the story.

The prose in this book is so overwrought in the worst way possible. Some of these similes and metaphors are just redundant and often sound plain bad.

Regardless, I still somewhat enjoyed it.

Amazingly written and kept me interested the entire time. Honestly my favourite book at the moment and will probably read again soon. If you watch the movie (i suggest after) you will see all the detail they missed!

A well executed story that deals with heavy topics with ease and weaves the trails and tribulations of main character Astrid’s coming of age story alongside the passage time.

I really enjoyed Astrid's journey and found her so brave and loveable. I did feel that the book went on slightly in places however was always invested enough to power through

Really interesting read. Not uplifting but somewhat realistic. She paints interesting portraits of a variety of women and scenarios. Ingrid is toxic and I know a few women that STRONGLY resemble her-an accurate description for sure.
