There’s something very healing about reading a classic gay novel with a happy ending.

Not fond of its theme of misogyny as a homosexual virtue, but otherwise a well-constructed tale ahead of its time, at least in terms of its happy ending.

It’s incredible to see such an early example of queer literature.  Although slow through the middle, the beginning and end make the book a worthwhile read.

This may be the easiest classic I've ever got through. I haven't seen the movie. It's good, you should read it.

fully sobbing in a restaurant rereading this! i think of the scene where maurice calls into the night all the time

A classic novel about a gay romance, originally written in 1912-1913. I found this a little hard to get through because of its prose. I’m curious to read any of Forster’s more well-known works and would be curious to. This was a book club pick, and I’m excited to hear what people have to say about it. It’s great to read a gay novel from the early 20th century with a happy ending.
