Burroughs once again focuses on his life experiences, but this time in the form of a humorous and quirky essay collection.

It took me a while to get into this book, but I was giggling madly by the second half of the book. Augusten Burroughs has a cruel streak a little wider than mine, and I like to think that if I stepped on a little girl's hand, I would have the devious nature to walk away and pretend it never happened. I can't wait to read more of his stuff!

This book is great! I wish the author would come live in RI so I could run into him at a bar and make fun of people with him.

Sassy and sometimes smarmy, this is the first of Burroughs' memoires I've read. I felt like I'd missd out on some of the insights due to this, but most of the essays were fine as stand alone vignettes. I'm encouraged to read more.

I really enjoyed this book! One of Burroughs memoirs that is written in a series of short stories/essays about his life, it moves elegantly as if a work of fiction.
I was entranced by his style and voice. What great fun!
The reason I did not give this book 5 stars was simply for the reason that after the peak of the book the decent, to me, lacked the punch and style the rest of the book had.
Either way, I will most definitely be reading more of his work.
