A quick read. I really liked how the first and last short stories were connected.

3 1/2. My attention span has been very limited lately, so short stories are working well. I admit I was cautions going in - while I was quite the fan of Packer's first two books (short story collection & novel), I kinda hated her last. But, overall I thought these were lovely and affecting.

The last story, "Things Said or Done," was my favorite.

Collection of short stories. While I was disppointed with the ending of the first story, overall it is a good, well-written collection of short stories. Unique and interesting.

THIS WAS JUST A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOSS. WHILE THE STORIES WERE GOOD, THEY WERE A LITTLE HARD TO READ FOR ME, ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE BEING 100 PAGES WITH NO CHAPTERS HAHA. OVERALL GREAT STORIES ABOUT LOSS AND HOW IT CAN AFFECT DIFFERENT PARTS OF YOUR LIFE

I loved the story "Molten": Packer very accurately captured the madness that grief wrecks on a life. I found the other stories to be good, but not gripping.

Kinda like the Stephen King one....not much to grab your attention. Each story doesn't end well and leaves you wanting more and then you are onto a new chapter. Wouldn't recommend.
