Listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it. I liked the characters and the overall plot and Evie’s overall growth, grief, and journey. I also enjoyed how the author explored platonic men and women friendships too.

I am sad I’m no longer reading thins. Quite possibly the best romance book I’ve ever read. This book did what Meet Cute tried to do. It was a romance with characters overcoming loss and working through grief but it wasn’t depressing. It was funny, sweet, and sad at times but it came back around. Ugh I loved it so much.

I loved this book so very much. There's so much to adore: a completely platonic male/female friendship, a flawed main character who
actually goes to therapy to work through her shit instead of "magically" being fixed by a new partner's love
, a hot baseball player who listens to NPR and watches trashy TV, and best of all, a woman who finds her own happiness,
plus a cozy waterfront cottage with a puppy
. I read the whole book in a day. Looking forward to more from Linda Holmes!

I say this with allll respect to tropes, but this book is much more than it’s trope and the ways in which it is more are very very good. It’s funny and sad, an escape and real, light and deep, a sexy romance and a pair of personal journeys. It’s a lot of things and it does all of them well and it was truly enjoyable to read. I’d read it again and I’d try anything by Linda Holmes having read this.
