In all honesty, the book was fine.

I'm just a little tired of reading the style of psychological posturing that is both superior and cynical from a self deprecating homosexual for the tenth time, and the main character for this one was extra insufferable.

The male lead was predictable on account of being both sweet and occasionally yawn inducing. It did, however, make it a bit more humorous to imagine him as something closer to Miles Edgeworth. I'm ignoring how that seems almost like a coping mechanism.

I'm probably going to read the sequel then grumble about it too.

Took me a while to get into the book at the beginning,  but once I dod the amount of comedy and slight unhinge-ness that comes from the narrator keeps me engaged in the story all the way to the end. A fun read without too much emotional investment.

picked this up as a beach read, did not expect to get as emotionally attached to the characters. definitely a bit cheesy and predictable at times but still an enjoyable read.
