This book really picked up in the second half and left me excited for the third book. The first half was a little slow, but it was worth it in the end. Love the cast of characters and the many creatures!

The final third of this book has some great twists and character moments, but the first two thirds are abysmally paced. It's a lot of words for a small amount of travel and it took me forever to slug through.
