I had very neutral feelings about ‘they both die at the end’ and wasn’t expecting all that much from the prequel but this book proved me wrong!! I love how we’re given far more insight into the behind the scenes of death cast and joaquin rosa himself. much like ‘they both die at the end’, the book meets a sudden and heartbreaking end but unlike ‘the both die at the end’, we’re left with a bittersweet hope that the characters’ stories will continue to develop past the pages of the book, which i think is lovely.
