This one seemed very short, but that's probably because I've been waiting for it and I read it fast. Now it's all gone and I don't have any more! Sigh, good authors are better than chocolate and harder to save for later.
I do feel like the other brothers weren't in this one as much, which is disappointing, but then in each of the others the other brothers faded into the background a bit. I'm waffling between 4 and 5 stars.

Overall, this book’s ending isn’t really satisfying; I feel like this series needs one more book to wrap the series up. It’s fine for now, but it doesn’t answers my burning questions about the Guides and the Merrick’s brothers.
I wish there were going to be more books. It ends at a good stopping point, but I love these boys and wouldn't mind getting more from their world. Still feels like there's more to explore here.
I can't help but fall into these books and wish they'd go on longer. I love me some Merrick boys. Especially Gabriel, but, bummer, this book isn't about him.
Michael is the eldest and responsible for his brothers since the death of his parents. He's also taken in a stray, Hunter Garrity, because that's just the type of good guy he is. Their lives are constantly in peril thanks to the Guides and the dude is getting set up to take the fall for bombings in his town. He can't catch a break.
My heart went out to the poor guy. He's only 23 and dealing with maintaining custody of his three brothers, their friend who they took in, a mortgage, running a flailing business, and love. Throw in getting framed for crimes and you have a perfect storm of stress.
As for Hannah, she needed a nice spa weekend to work out those knots. Girl is a young mom, a firefighter, and dealing with a dad that's less than pleasant to her. Did I mention that they live in the same house?
I enjoyed the family dynamic Kemmerer has built as well as the sense of maintaining your humanity during circumstances that usually make you lose it. Michael may be young but he's fiercely protective of his brothers and will also give anyone in need the shirt off his back because he knows that one small gesture can make all the difference. Respect, brother, respect.
AS for Hannah, she wins a medal because her life is the quintessential "You're kidding me, right?" She followed the rules and obeyed her dad her entire life. The one moment she decides to rebel she ends up paying for dearly when she became a teen mom. However, that curse turned into a blessing.
Brigid, you made me groan with the open ended ending but it was beautiful. I want more.

I was disappointed the final book felt so rushed. I was looking forward to Michael’s book because he’s been my favorite for a while; I love his calm, reassuring presence. But I think this last book would’ve really benefited from including multiple perspectives - to feel how the younger brothers felt, to include Becca & Quinn (so frustrating they were sidelined!), to get Hunter’s perspective in *that* scene. I wanted more from the finale!

Well. Wow. Intense. I wish this included the other brothers' pov with all that going on. And kinda heart wrenching but still mostly a HEA.
A proper ending to the Elemental Saga. This one had me guessing throughout. A bit more death and destruction than seemed necessary, but still a page turning mystery that is quick to read.
