This was a tome, and I had trouble staying interested in reading it. Listening to it read by Davina Porter though was so good. I hated to see that 49 hour book end!
I love all the books in the series. I wish I had continued my tradition of rereading the last book to refresh my mind (after 7 years I certainly needed a refresher) before I started this book. I had forgotten much but it was wonderful to be reunited with my friends!
Sooooo boring. I read all 888 pages hoping it would get better but it didn’t. So disappointed as I liked her other Outlander books.

This isn’t quite the book I was expecting, but she somehow managed to make me like it nonetheless.
I had it in my mind that this would be the last book in the series, but unfortunately I was wrong and will now be waiting years for the next and hopefully last book! This book lacked a lot of the action and adventure I was expecting, when I think back to it, the majority of the book was really about nothing. But even though most of it was about nothing, we’ve followed these characters for along and she obviously loves them so much that I was still engrossed reading about their everyday lives and the little, mostly irrelevant to the plot, adventures. As always I like the little bits of history worked in, but this booked seemed less focused on that and more on the lives of the characters themselves with the war as a backdrop. She’s built up such a character base that there’s so many lives we’re following, I’m wondering how she ever going to wrap this all up, but in the meantime I’ll just enjoy the ride!
