Started out a bit slow, but picked up in the end. Did not disappoint!

I'm a relatively new Outlander fan, so I've only been waiting for a year or so for this book, so I can't imagine those who waited for 7 years!! I've noticed a lot of negative reviews about this book and did it jump from character to character? Yes. Was it a lot of story building and not as much action? Also yes. Did I still love every single second with these characters, unequivocally yes! I feel like I've heard the 10th book is supposed to be the last, and if that's the case, I think that even adds to why this book made sense. There are a lot of storylines that need to come to conclusion, and this book was building all of those storylines to their climactic points. We just haven't quite reached the end yet. Overall, I still loved it and will absolutely read it again.

Can this story get any better? A day in the life of Jamie, Claire and their beloveds. I’m ready for the next book; it cannot come any sooner for me.
I read the first book of this series Outlander in my mid-20s when it was placed on my desk with a note ‘try this story and enjoy!’ I’m finally done reading for graduate school and now I can read for ‘fun’. I loved the story and a big fan of Diana Gabaldon’s writing ever since. My reading experience with Outlander has started my love for reading and I never stopped. Too many books not enough time.
As I think of when book 10 might be released since there is typically 3-4 years between each book release I will be almost 60 years old. I’m a fan of Jaime and Claire’s devoted love for each other and their family.

Lord J G's storylines are tedious, imho.

Wow! My new favorite from the series. The plot was quite slow, or maybe I should say, the characters seemed to try to avoid a plot (which is logical as that plot would be war). Instead of that, they just try to build their own lives and worry about whether they have made enough jam to last them the winter. In was so relaxing and grounding to read about them going back to basics. The end was all very stressful, and the cliffhanger implied that the next book will begin with quite a lot of action, but I also hope it won't just be action. I would like to see how the characters settle down in the next book.
P.S. I felt like I've been reading this book for at least a month now but it hasn't even been 20 days. I was completely emerged.
