As always, excellent world-building. However, compared to other books in the series, this one felt a little meandering - like it was just setting the stage for the next book in the series.

The weakest one so far in the series, in my opinion, but still an enjoyable read. Definitely a lot of set up, similar in vibes to Echo or Fiery Cross, which also set up the story for the next respective book. Looking forward to the tenth.

This read was a slow slog but still enjoyable since I absolutely love the Frasier/Mackenzies .

I've started to listen to these books on audio instead of reading. This one was 44 plus hours of typical Diana Gabaldon story telling. I'm a sucker for an epic and this series is just that. But like most Outlander fans, the wait for the next story is always the hardest.

I enjoyed this book more than I have the last couple Outlander books. I really liked reading more storyline about characters like Ian, Bree, William, John Grey and his family. That being said, the main plot and especially Claire and Jamie’s story just kind of meandered around with vague ties to the Revolutionary War. If this were the first or second Outlander book I wouldn’t continue with the series, but I feel like I’ve come too far to not keep reading it

Boring, not much happens. A militia, war for 5 minutes at the end.
