This book will leave you sobbing. Slaughter’s storytelling and description of some of the darkest places, ideas, actions, etc. makes her a master.

Overall I absolutely loved this book, and everytime I put it down I couldn't wait to pick it back up.

The only thing I didn't like was how much reference there was to COVID (and NOT because I'm a conspiracy theorist like Phil). I just didn't feel like those details (i.e. referencing masks being up or down, etc) really added anything and it almost got distracting -- we've all lived with it for 3 years so I would have enjoyed getting lost in a story world where it doesn't exist, y'know?

All in all, incredible read as usual from Slaughter!!!

This book made me tear up? I wasn’t expecting that haha. Another good book by Karin Slaughter, but definitely doesn’t live up to Pretty Girls or The Good Daughter in my opinion. The book took a really long time for me to get really into it, but once it finally got going I was hooked. Very satisfying ending.

This is the first book I’ve read where I didn’t hate the inclusion of COVID. I still didn’t love it but I think Slaughter incorporated it in ways that made the setting feel more real.

What a disturbing book lol. She really knows how to write disgusting things. I really enjoyed this and how dark it was, while also talking about important events and things like Covid, pedophilia, childhood abuse, and drug abuse. I really loved the sister relationships(she always does such a good job with it). I really liked how strong our female characters were. This did make me cry which I wasn’t expecting.
