3.74 AVERAGE

The ending was 5* alone but alas. Took a lot of 3* plot to get there

Roswell? You're only on the... what is this, the third book of the Nora Kelly series?... and you're going to aliens? With an Elon Musk character thrown in for good measure? I have given up on the Prendergast books because they got so ridiculous. Looks like it's time to hang it up on Nora Kelly too.

Um, Roswell, not so much my thing. Fast-paced, still love the characters, a little too much government cover-up storyline for me. I liked the first two better. Looking forward to the next Pendergast.

This book reminded me in some ways of a James Rollins book in the way it has a cast of characters that the story jumps back and forth until they all end up in the final show down. Has a great sci-fi story and a great mystery running through it but this doesn’t surprise me with these two authors. A great vacation read I would say . And I give it 5 stars. And hopefully there will be more books in this series

Another Preston & Child book under my belt! I'm SO glad to be back in Nora's world. The bleak New Mexican landscape is cool to expand. It's clearly one that the authors like (looking at you, Gideon!). Nora and Corrie are a boss pair and really fun to read!

Preston & Child have taken a bit of a sci-fi turn in the last few books, which is okay, but I'm ready to get back to the nitty gritty underworld of big cities, full of corruption and over-the-top villans. Oh well, on to the next one!

Absolutely fantastic! Wasn’t sure I’d like this since it was about UFO but it’s sucked me in immediately! Absolutely love the Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child books and the Nora Kelly series! Can’t wait for the next installment.

Disappointed in the ending but overall,  it's a good read.  More of a sci-fi feel.

3.5 rounding up. Felt like it careened from a tight thriller to over the top action movie, but it was a really fast paced read.

Clearly not one of their best, but I still enjoyed reading it.

I feel the same about this as I do about many of the archeological mysteries, they are fine. Dig, mystery, action, resolution. They are easy reads and the combo of archeology and FBI agent pieces is serviceable. I've never enjoyed Nora as a character, she doesn't seem to have a discernable personality to me, and I'm not sure how I feel about where they took her in this one, no matter, onto the next.
