This book was a cute and fantastical way to talk about spiritual warfare with kiddos.

We listened to the audiobook, which is excellent! I didn't get to listen to all of it, but my kids did and as soon as we finished this one they asked for the next one... which we just started. I love that it's based on Scripture.

It was a great book for us to read to our 9 year old son every night before bed. He loved the action and we loved how it influences kids to be loving and wise.

With a flavor that somehow hints at C.S. Lewis, The Princess Bride, Inkheart, AND Brandon Sanderson, this middle grade trilogy opener surprised me.

It's a fantastical take on spiritual warfare that's direct without spoon-feeding explanations for every piece of the allegory. I'm definitely interested to see where Shirer and Detwiler take their warriors from here.

Soooo good! It makes the spiritual war so understandable. Really great adventure that's fast paced, gets to the point quick. A wonderful adventure any Christian would enjoy. Great use of Bible verses!

This is definitely a book I will give to my children. Very similar to The Chronicles of Narnia, but for a younger age group. I love that the symbolism is so clear.

This was such a sweet audiobook. It took a while to get into, but it was worth it in the end. It was a little abstract (I was expecting more [b: The Chronicles of Narnia|11127|The Chronicles of Narnia (Chronicles of Narnia, #1-7)|C.S. Lewis|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1449868701s/11127.jpg|781271] style and it reminded me more of [b: A Wrinkle in Time|18131|A Wrinkle in Time (A Wrinkle in Time Quintet, #1)|Madeleine L'Engle|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1329061522s/18131.jpg|948387]) but the metaphors were excellent. My one complaint with moral allegories in general is that I feel like I spend the entire time telling the characters not to do something, yelling at them when they do it anyways, and then rolling my eyes at how little they listen. But it was a very convicting book.
