It took a lot to get through the first part of this book. Many deep breaths and drying out my book from all of the tears. But it was definitely worth it to see how everything unfolded and how the characters overcame their struggles and suffering. I liked how even in the darkest parts of the story, the author included characters or situations that still provided hope or a little light. I also liked how she included statements that are a mirror to the current state of affairs.

Arguably similar to Haunting Adeline. Still a very dark and disturbing novel in places but slightly more plot surrounding more characters? Curiosity killed the cat after the cliffhanger a the end of the previous book but similarly feel not entirely sure how I would rate this book, other than very explicit.
3.75 stars. Almost DNF it several times throughout part one. The amount of graphic content revolving sex trafficking and torture was absolutely insane. This is a book you have to take the trigger warnings seriously.
