So, like the first third of the book I would consider torture porn. I honestly might not have read this duet if I knew we’d spend that much time reading graphic sexual assault.
I didn’t DNF because I really needed to see through the characters journey.

I’m not gonna lie, I had a hard time with this one. I did the audiobook so I really felt Adeline’s angst and sorrow quite thoroughly throughout the story and found myself crying quite a bit. The author did a great job bringing the realities of this dark world to light, and our girl suffered. I’m not sure how believable some of the elements in the story were, but it made for a great book and I loved seeing Adeline and Zade get their happy ending 🖤
