In this volume we see Ren and Mito become closer while Ruka struggles to get over himself, a common theme from the first volume. As the volume progresses there seems to be a love triangle forming and all the angst that comes with it. It has it's dark and broody moments but Mito always pops up to turn it light and fluffy as she should.

Though I enjoyed this volume in the series, it feels odd to me that this is marketed toward teenagers—even older ones. A lot of the vampire behavior is really toxic & could be super harmful if normalized or made to seem desirable.
From an adult perspective, it’s a cute, vampire romance that has secret identities, confusing but humorous situations, and delightful love interests. It was a quick read!

I still think the plot hole I pointed out in my review of volume one is an issue. Besides that, I am absolutely loving this series and I’m ready to see what’s in store in volume 3!
