Impressively helpful. It's a fairly informal book, more like a series of blog posts than a book which isn't surprising give the book's blog origins. The systems are actually working in my chaotic home that has defied several more formal systems. The book itself is a bit repetitive, but given its effectiveness (both my dishes and my laundry have been under control for a record six weeks) I am willing to deal with the repetition.
Reminds me of FlyLady. 5 min timer, do the dishes every night. Good reminders.

This is a great book for learning how to clean when you have ADHD, or any other neurodivergence that leads you to preferring projects over repetitive tasks and therefore doing everything to avoid those boring cleaning things you always have to do forever. I had figured out a lot of this on my own through trial and error, but I really wish I had read this a few years ago cause it would have been a huge help then. But I still got some good tidbits out of it now too.

I'm not usually a self-help, non-fiction kind of reader. I love a good romance! This book had me laughing (at her and myself) and kept my attention the whole way through (except the part about selling my things on eBay. Not something I would consider.). Dana is a down-to-earth person who shares her struggles and helps the reader identify what some of their struggles are. Who knew about slob vision? I know now that I have it, and how to clear that vision and see those piles as clutter. Loved the book!
I listened to the audio, which I really enjoyed, but I realize it would be more practical to get a hard copy for reference. If you rolled your eyes and mentally extended your middle finger when you read about the KonMarie method in "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up", this book is for you. This is a guide that keeps it real for the rest of us.

Dana lays things out in such a relatable, comfortable, and approachable way. Her suggestions and tools are from her own experiences as someone who struggles with clutter and mess, and she has amassed a community of others who have expressed similarly. Her videos inspire me, and her book helped me really feel like being in control of my space and my house is within my control. I listened to the audiobook, which she narrates, and her compassionate and loving soul emanates through the book with fervour and authenticity.
