Just do the dishes!

For those who need a constant reminder to not be messy. It's so easy to let household chores go by the way side due to life getting in the way. But with some simple steps that may seem obvious to some you can change the landscape of your space!

I've told multiple people of gems within this book, cheif of them being the clutter threshold. :)

Pretty much everything she said, was exactly what I say/do/have happen on a nearly daily basis. I am glad to know that it is not only me that thinks this way. Great tips, and I have started implementing them already. Thank you!

I'm not big on cleaning/organizing/minimizing books. However this one spoke to me about how my home feels. I have made several small changes from this book that are making a HUGE difference in my house. Like working out, cleaning and de-cluttering is a healthy habit. I'm getting better at it. I'm really glad I read this book!

Good, actionable steps for anyone for whom organizational advice consistently fails. (Written by a slob, aimed at people who find they have a different brain than that of organized people who are usually the authors of such books.)

The decluttering half of this book is expanded upon and given greater depth (and more step-by-step) in her next book, [b:Decluttering at the Speed of Life: Winning Your Never-Ending Battle with Stuff|35540769|Decluttering at the Speed of Life Winning Your Never-Ending Battle with Stuff|Dana K. White|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1498855842l/35540769._SY75_.jpg|56963994]. Now having read them both, I'd recommend starting with this one, especially to anyone who has had trouble developing the daily and weekly habits needed to keep a house under control, as it lays a foundation and gives first steps - but either book gives enough advice to get started (especially if the problem is too much stuff).

As with her next book, I really like the way she framed (and Capitalized) various concepts so that they're clear and memorable. While I probably am somewhere in the middle of the organizer -> slob spectrum (mindset-wise), I found her approach down-to-earth, realistic, actionable, and maintainable. (Bonus: her approach to decluttering, unlike that of some others, doesn't involve pulling everything out and making a bigger mess!)

If there was ever a book written just for me, this is it. It's exactly what I needed!

This rating is more for Dana's entire approach and franchise. Really transformative for the ADHD slob-brain that keeps buying cleaning books written by naturally organized people and then wondering why they don't work. I'm jaded and cynical, so I'm not quite ready to call this book life-changing, but I think I will probably discover that it was.
