I am currently in the process of still reading the book, so I will update when I complete it.
Dana White has a way of bringing her audience in and making them feel, well, normal. I am a very organized person, but still very much a clutter bug. At the start of the book, I had a section of my house where I knew where everything was, yet it was overwhelming and somewhat depressing. White is encouraging and gives one the motivation to take just a few minutes and see how much progress one can make in a few minutes. For me, it turns out that in a few periods of short minutes, I can clear out cluttered corners and surfaces. So far, five stars!
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book opened my eyes to why I do certain things. I love researching things! So I spend my time finding the perfect way to clean my house, make a schedule, etc instead of just going and cleaning. I also don't see the pile of papers on the kitchen table because I've looked at/past them for so long. I love that her approach is to just go do the dishes, etc! There were great points throughout the book.
I loved this book. Dana made it clear upfront that this book is not for everyone: "Not everyone needs this book. Rule yourself out as my target audience if you buy home management books because you get a kick out of cleaning and organizing gives you a thrill. If your home is ready for unexpected guests more often than not, you probably don't need this book." Well, I love to read, I love to organize, and I am never more than 10 minutes or so away from having my house in enough order that it is presentable to a guest. But, I read this book anyway and I am so glad that I did! It all makes so much sense! I do many of the habits that she suggests in her 28 Days Hope for Your Home- so I do think that they are good sound suggestions and will help you get control over your house.
What I liked most about the book are the parts about slobvision, which I can get from time to time, and her approach to decluttering, which is absolutely brilliant! I always thought of decluttering as a project (an overwhelming project at that), and I approached it with an all-or-nothing mentality. Dana has opened my eyes and I am so thankful! I think that everyone will find something in this book that resonates with them.

I have listened to Dana's podcast, so a lot of the information in this book wasn't new. However, it is all of the useful information of her podcast in one compact and succinct format. While, I don't think I have ever reached the slob status that she talks about (ie I have no problem doing the dishes on the regular.) I do struggle with other aspects of maintaining a clean home. I like her approach to tackling cleaning, decluttering, etc.

I am a messy momma and a I will say it a closet slob. This book spoke to me and spoke to the way my mind works which is differently that the 10 million other organization books I have started but never finished because they just don’t get it. This book gave lots of practical tips and new ways of thinking about things to help get my house and decluttering under control.
I have no idea if these ideas will work for me but I am looking forward to putting them into practice — starting small and completing one task at a time.
Seriously — this is a short quick read! If you are a super organized person already you probably won’t get much from this book ... but it might help you understand why I have never invited you over
