This was a great follow up to the Inheritance Games Trilogy. There were several parallel plots, and the introduction of new characters. Family love was a big theme

The ending of this book had me slapping my mouth. Jennifer Lynn Barnes never fails to make you think with her Hawthorne puzzles and this book was no exception. I loved the duel perspective with Jameson and Grayson. My only issue is how their thoughts felt too calculated and less natural. Also, I felt like Jameson and Avery’s chemistry was a little off in this book. Overall, I enjoyed this book (especially Gigi who is now my second favorite character just behind Xander).
I don’t know if this was just me, but it felt like Jameson was slightly svicid@l at times.
Graphic: Infidelity and Abandonment
Moderate: Grief and Classism
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
