This book was a beautiful exploration of girlhood, womanhood, and sisterhood. To delve into the untold stories felt like being let in on a secret. I picked this up in a op shop for $2 because I liked the cover, and reading this book gave me more than I could have hoped. I laughed, I cried, I reflected on my own life while reading The Red Tent. If you want to find yourself intwined with the stories of women and the spanning of connection across time, this book will be perfect.

The Red Tent is a beautiful read for anyone looking to be crushed but also uplifted. Despite not being a woman, I have learnt so much about womanhood from this book. Specifically,  I now have a deeper understanding of how their stories have been oppressed throughout history.
I hope one day to feel the contentment she found.

This book made me feel holiness in womanhood like nothing else I've ever experienced. It brought the Old Testament into a new light for me and made me cherish the untold stories of women held within.

This is a fictional account of Dinah’s life from the book of Genesis, honoring the stories and perspectives of women, especially Jacob’s wives, Rachel and Leah, Zilpah and Bilhah, and of course Dinah.

The tone is very spiritual and sensual at the same time, and Diamant’s prose is immersive.
