DID NOT FINISH

Unfortunately, I started reading this and realized that I am not the target audience for this book. While I believe there are a lot of people out there who will love this book, I couldn't finish it. There are aspects to this story that are not enjoyable for me.

Points of Issue:
- the author's note gave a very clear indication that this book won't be for me
- the author's note also gave some content warnings, and several of them are just not for me

Wow what can I say about this story. It was very long but it grasped my attention from the beginning. There was so much mystery, magic and romance all tied in this insane story. I loved the diff time line stories and that it developed as you kept reading, unraveling answers one chapter at a time. It kept me on my toes and kept me guessing and thinking of what was going on. I was traveling when I started this so it was hard to keep picking it up even tho I absolutely was invested in the actual story. There were parts that were cringe in the spice, which I understand isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but ngl the spice was spicing lmao. Amon is something else and I absolutely loved Darcy. She didn’t take anything at face value and immediately was questioning what the hell was going on lol. The ending made me sooo happy how it all unraveled and was revealed. Some might think it was a little rushed but honestly I was happy it was all wrapped up

Wow okay!!! So I was definitely surprised with how much I loved this book. I really enjoyed the different timelines and trying to work everything out. I did ask myself what the hell was happening in the beginning but by the end it all made sense. The love story between the main characters was my favourite part. Definitely recommend!!

I aspire to have a love like this, one to last through this lifetime and every one to follow. There is so much beauty in Veronica’s writing and the way she created this remarkable connection between Darcy and Amon. He is the epitome of “I will burn the entire world down just to know her, let alone fall in love with her.” It took me about 200 pages to truly latch onto the story, but once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down. It is so worth every page.

“What if I told you that you're my entire reason for being? That you're why I wake up in the morning. Every goddamn day from the dawn of time until now. What if I told you that you belong to me in a way no woman ever belonged to a man? That I might be evil personified, but you're the only one I'll ever be good to.”
