This book was just WEIRD. I felt like it was a fever dream with the uneasiness of the movie Mother! and the mixture of an A24 film. Maybe some of the metamorphosis vibe if it was horror.

took a while for the story to really engage me. i loved the analogies but also felt like i could put the book down at any time and not think about it again
I have loved every Eric Larocca I have read so far. However, this one just wasn't for me. I wish I could tell you why, but I just did not vibe with this one.
However, I love his writing and will continue to read everything that he writes.

i have to stop trying to read this author’s books already omg i dont like it when ppl use too much gross shit (literally lol) in horror stuff
this was equal parts gross, captivating and absolutely bizarre. i loved the story this told, and i thought the way that fantastic elements came into the story was masterful. the characters were amazing too, i loved that there was only a small cast but the sense of horror was absolutely palpable from each of them. loved it.

this was an interesting one! it's a little bit more fantastical than things have gotten worse since we last spoke which for me meant my suspension of belief needed to be larger and therefore i think i was less moved, but overall i still really enjoyed it.

This was definitely scarier (for me anyway, it’s the rats!!) than You’ve Lost a Lot of Blood and It’s Gotten Worse Since the Last Time we Spoke. I genuinely think this has given me a fear of spiders. This book was packed with claustrophobic atmosphere and I loved how horrifying it was. Eric La Rocca has such a talent for horror stories.
