First of all, I love Eric Larocca. He writes a lot of different genres of horror but this one unfortunately wasn't for me. Nothing against him. This one just really missed the mark for me 'personally'. I will continue to pick up anything he writes in the future cause the man can WRITE!

Eric Larocca is defo becoming a new author of mine, this is the 3rd book I’ve read by him and by far my fav. His work is bizarrely unique and disturbingly pleasing!
I can’t even begin to explain this one with out spoiling the whole thing, it’s less than 100 pages…go read it now

I finished this in one sitting and once again was hooked by his kick ass descriptions, gross scenes, and unsettling atmospheres. There’s definitely a LOT of fantasy-type elements in here so while I agree this won’t be the book for everyone, it definitely was for me.

We Can Never Leave This Place reads like a fucked up Haruki Murakami or Samanta Schweblin novel. Absolutely gut wrenching and surreal.

Damn this was a ride, idk what to say but oh I loved the circusy dialogues, idk what to call them, they were very on point and creepy as hell. And damn that twist was ahem disturbing and added more meaning to a lot of the story. Idk if I'll come back to write a better review, I'd want to, but for now this is it. I'd recommend, if you can handle gore, and check out the trigger warnings first.
