Most of us know what happens in the end, but it's still interesting to read a novel from Mrs. Astor's point of view. It gives insight into high society of the Golden Age. It could be a bit slow at times, but I enjoyed seeing that period from a woman's perspective. The audiobook is good, but I got a bit tired of the reader's soft voice.

I read this after reading Marjorie Post and it just left me feeling very sad. Obviously we know what happens but then following up with my Google binge after made me feel sad for her. Also to read a (fictional) first hand encounter of something I only saw from Rose and Jack was depressing - it took me days to actually read the part of the book where they start sinking. Overall, a sad book but one I couldn’t put down. It’s interesting to read what could have been her point of view.
